Latest airfare hikes are blamed on rising fuel prices

Most major carriers have followed the lead of Southwest Airlines and increased fares from $4 to $10 per round trip. Rising fuel prices are being blamed. "Fuel prices are a significant hurdle for the airline industry," said Southwest spokeswoman Whitney Eichinger.
