Can retailers fight showrooming with shopping fees?

Vera Wang dropped its policy of charging brides-to-be $482 for 90 minutes of trying on gowns at its new Shanghai showroom after a media story drew criticism. A specialty food store in Brisbane, Australia, is sticking by its policy of charging visitors $5 to browse, saying it's an attempt to cope with the rising tide of showrooming.
