Experts say that advances in electronic trading are helping to make the municipal bond market more efficient. "It's more an aid in helping a dealer discern bids on bonds when they've got to respond to many thousands of bid-wanted requests in a day," said SIFMA's Michael Decker. Technology is helping some firms aggregate order flow, and may develop to help automate the price and quoting system, some experts say.
