PEDv means big losses for producers, report finds

Nearly 19 million fewer swine will be processed in the U.S. this year because of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, according to a report by lender Rabobank. PEDv has affected swine operations in 27 states and one-third of Mexico's herds, and it is working its way into Canada. Officials predict the U.S. pork industry may see the largest production decline in three decades.
