FAA to issue directive ordering inspection of certain Airbus jets

The Federal Aviation Administration will order U.S. airlines to inspect the rudders of Airbus A310s and A300-600s. The FAA will issue the directive today. It was prompted after an Air Transat jet lost nearly all its rudder on a March 6 flight. American Airlines and FedEx are the only U.S. airlines flying the planes.
