Miami-Dade may convert high schools into small academies

Miami-Dade schools chief Rudy Crew will ask the school board this May to approve the reorganization of at least 12 high schools into smaller career-themed academies, with the remaining high schools expected to eventually follow suit. Some education experts say the move is premature, given that no long-term studies have assessed the academic impact of this model.
