House hearing to focus on regulators' role in subprime mess

Lawmakers will question banking regulators today about their role in the turmoil of the subprime-mortgage market at a House Financial Services subcommittee hearing. FDIC Chairwoman Sheila Bair, National Credit Union Administration Chairwoman JoAnn Johnson and Official of Thrift Supervision Director John Reich are scheduled to testify about predatory lending and the subprime-mortgage market.
