Survey: One in four teachers pessimistic about students' future

Nearly one in four urban teachers say most of their students "would not be successful at a community college or university," and even more say students are not motivated to learn, a new survey found. The results surprised author Brian Perkins, a Southern Connecticut State University professor of education law and policy, who surveyed 4,700 urban educators.
