Delayed dredging forces closure of Michigan harbor

Construction projects from South Bend, Ind., to Kalamazoo, Mich., could see delays and overruns after commercial docks on the St. Joseph River were shut down this week. On Monday, a barge got stuck in shallow waters, forcing the docks to close. The Army Corps of Engineers was scheduled to dredge the harbor this month, but the work was delayed until July because of permits and funding problems.
