Robotic system guides surgeons in knee operations

MAKO Surgical Corp. has developed a robotic system that guides orthopedic surgeons in performing partial-knee-replacement operations. The technology, which features a robotic arm equipped with a saw, provides a 3-D model of the bone to help surgeons determine the location for the implants and track the progress of the operation.
