Tagatose could hold promise for diabetes

U.S. researchers are conducting a late-stage clinical trial of tagatose, a natural sugar, to test its efficiency in controlling blood glucose levels in Type 2 diabetes patients. They believe tagatose could be a potential diabetes drug that can increase levels of good cholesterol and serve as a cell-protecting antioxidant.
