Calcium supplement gives overweight women diet boost

A study by Canadian researchers found overweight women who had very low levels of calcium had greater reductions in weight and body fat when taking calcium-plus-vitamin-D supplements. The effect was only seen among women who were getting less than 600 milligrams of calcium per day. Researchers said the reason may be that the supplement helped curb a woman's appetite for fatty foods.
