Canada investigates credit card companies

Canada's Competition Bureau is looking into the activities of the credit card industry, according to a top official. "As merchants across the country are struggling to survive, VISA and MasterCard have used their dominance in Canada to drive up the fees merchants and consumers pay to use the cards," said Diane J. Brisebois, president and CEO of the Retail Council of Canada.
