CPAs share tip for future leaders

CPAs who want to excel in business should hone their communication and emotional skills, the profession's leaders say. Beth Gamel, CPA/PFS, co-founder of Massachusetts-based Pillar Financial Advisors, says great leaders should be model communicators who have "extraordinary oratory gifts and the ability to influence, lift up and motivate individuals." CPA financial planners help raise awareness of personal financial planning to emerging professionals by using the resources in the PFP Emerging Professionals Outreach Toolkit to initiate contact with universities and state CPA societies, as well as to prepare for and execute outreach events.
