Tech-based program helps interest students in math

Several classrooms in California's Los Altos School District are piloting a program that uses technology to teach traditional math lessons. The program, developed by the nonprofit Khan Academy, features a series of online math challenges and exercises for which students can earn video-game style badges and awards. Teachers can access real-time performance data to monitor students' progress.
