IBM CIO discusses the push toward universal BYOD

Two-thirds of IBM's 120,000-strong mobile workers rely on devices they have acquired and pay for themselves to access the company's network, according to Jeanette Horan, IBM's chief information officer. Horan -- who recently offered details on Big Blue's increasing reliance on bring-your-own-device -- said the company uses its own Tivoli Endpoint Manager platform to administer its BYOD initiative and is in the process of creating business versions of applications such as Dropbox that marry functionality with security.
