The Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools program -- an offshoot of first lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign -- has set a goal of installing 6,000 salad bars in schools by 2013. So far, 1,200 are in place -- paid for through private donations -- and plans are in place to install another 400, including 15 planned for schools in the Atlanta area. Funding for the salad bars also includes training for school nutrition professionals on how to present the food to students and encourage them to eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
