Rural Ore. school adopts culture of wellness for staff, students

The rural Bonanza School in Oregon, which has 400 students in kindergarten through 12th grade, has embraced a culture of wellness led by its staff of 50, who have lost a total of 1,000 pounds since January 2011. Teachers lead Zumba classes after school and organize potluck-style Salad Wednesdays. Bonanza won a 2012 Oregon School Wellness Award for its efforts.
