AANP president in radio interview: Remove barriers to practice

Nurse practitioners are capable of addressing most primary care needs and should be allowed to practice without mandated collaboration agreements, AANP President Angela Golden said in an interview with Minnesota Public Radio. "The key here is to remove barriers so that patients have access to a quality health care provider. ... Why would a family nurse practitioner need a piece of paper when a family physician does not?" Golden said.
