Eurozone consumer sentiment grows gloomier

Adding to signs that the current quarter will be the sixth straight for eurozone contraction, an index of consumer sentiment for March fell more than expected to a reading of 90 from 91.1 in February. Although a return to growth is projected for the second quarter, "domestic demand is likely to remain a drag on growth in 2013, with positive impulses only from net exports", UBS economists said in a note before the index was released.
