First responders ready to help pets weather emergencies

Although more work is needed, the lessons of Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy left emergency responders more prepared than ever to address the needs of pets and livestock during a natural disaster. This week, Utah's emergency managers will gather to share knowledge and develop plans for assisting people with their animals in the event of a natural disaster.
