Fla. county uses security to protect residents after giving companies tax incentives

Seminole County, Fla., has taken steps to ensure that taxpayers are reimbursed if companies fail to live up to their obligations after receiving tax incentives, an official says. "Sometimes it's a letter of credit, sometimes it's a performance bond, but if a company doesn't live up to the terms of its agreement, we get the money back," said the county's economic development director.
