Integrated care improves treatment for HCV patients, study shows

An integrated care approach led to more hepatitis C patients with psychiatric disorders or substance abuse issues getting antiviral treatment, according to California researchers. The study, conducted at three treatment centers, showed 32.4% of patients in integrated care began antiviral treatment, compared with 19.7% who got usual care, and were more than twice as likely to achieve a sustained viral response.
