ACA enrollment exceeds 6 million, days ahead of March 31 deadline

The White House announced Thursday that more than 6 million people have enrolled in private insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act after a surge in sign-ups leading up to Monday's enrollment deadline. Enrollments now have surpassed the Congressional Budget Office's revised estimate of 6 million people for the first year. On Wednesday, HealthCare.gov recorded more than 1.5 million visits, while help centers received more than 430,000 phone calls.
