Emissions rules could make companies more competitive

The attempt to reduce industry's climate impact might not make companies less competitive, economist Thomas Fricke writes. In fact, companies that figure out ways to reduce their emissions will often find they're also making better products in more cost-efficient ways. "[A]mbitious climate targets, as Germany and other successful European economies have shown, are not the problem. They could even be part of the solution," Fricke writes.
