Flu shots may help reduce ICU admissions in children

Children and teens who received the influenza vaccine had a 74% lower risk of suffering from serious flu-related complications requiring admission to a pediatric intensive care unit, compared with unvaccinated peers, according to a CDC study published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases. The study included a small number of flu-related PICU cases, and more research is needed.
