Intel invests in Cloudera for Hadoop technology

Intel announced it has invested in Cloudera, which provides a cloud-based platform for Big Data analytics using open-source Apache Hadoop software. The companies will work together on integrating Cloudera's Hadoop software with Intel chips. "By aligning the Cloudera and Intel roadmaps, we are creating the platform of choice for big data analytics," Intel's Diane Bryant said. The "significant" Intel investment is on top of $160 million the company received from Google and other investors.
