Sens. Mary Landrieu, D-La., and Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, are looking at changing the process by which the Energy Department and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission review and approve proposals to export liquefied natural gas. The senators said the existing process fails to prioritize applications that are already commercially viable. "Should you go by the way the order is presented or who is most likely not only to get financing but also siting? There are several steps to this process of siting and financing and actually building these terminals," Landrieu said.
