A group of educators and elected leaders are protesting the state's decision to drop portions of African- and Latin-American history from the proposed seventh-grade curriculum, saying the changes make the curriculum too Eurocentric. A Boston University education professor says the pared down curriculum tells black and Hispanic students that their histories are insignificant. The state has solicited public comment on the issue.
