Several states are considering "conscience clause" laws that would protect pharmacists from penalties for refusing to fill prescriptions that conflict with their religious beliefs. Drugstores, including Walgreens and CVS, support pharmacists' convictions, but say the customer's right to fill a prescription needs to be respected.
