Biometrics seeks to make paper, plastic obsolete

Companies like Pay By Touch hope their biometric technology, which identifies people by biologic traits such as a fingerprint or voice, eventually will replace cash, credit cards and even keys. The company already has signed up more than 2 million people to have their fingerprint used as payment, and Albertsons' Jewel-Osco chain recently installed the technology.
