Marriott drops trio of Canadian Starwood hotels from deal

Host Marriott has excluded three Canadian hotels from a deal made in November to buy three dozen hotels from Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Host Marriott says the hotels were excluded because Starwood could not get a necessary tax ruling to enable the sale, and the exclusion will reduce the value of the deal by $276 million, bringing it to $3.76 billion.
