U.N. expert says bird flu virus has him "quite scared"

A United Nations expert on the H5N1 bird flu virus now tempers his earlier predictions of as many as 150 million deaths from it, but says he is still "quite scared" about a pandemic. Dr. David Nabarra, bird flu coordinator for the U.N., said his fear was confirmed by the "explosive spread" of the flu beyond Asia to other parts of the world much faster than he had expected.
