California schools increase API scores, set new subgroup goals

One in three California schools met the target score on the Academic Performance Index, up three percentage points from the previous year, new data show. The state also announced plans to create new achievement targets for districts dominated by non-native English speakers, African American, Latino or economically disadvantaged students, in a bid to up the performance of these groups.
