Push for OTC drugs may put patients at risk, experts say

Two health professionals writing in the British Medical Journal say rushing to make drugs available over the counter may compromise their benefits and put patients at greater risk. Reclassifying medicines could cause indiscriminate overuse and lead to preventable, but irreversible, adverse effects, they say.
