Microsoft offers plan to turbocharge the Web

Microsoft will submit a plan for an HTTP 2.0 protocol designed to make the Web run significantly faster. The "HTTP Speed+Mobility" protocol builds on Google's proposed SPDY system, but has a greater focus on mobile applications rather than desktop browsers, explains Microsoft's Jean Paoli. "We think that apps -- not just browsers -- should get faster."
