Model regulations on annuities would benefit consumers, Miller says

Annuities can appear complicated to customers, and a fraud case has caused some to question the role of advisers in selling them, NAIFA President Robert Miller writes in a reprint of a blog post. But many Americans rely on the products to provide guaranteed income for life, and trained, licensed advisers can guide clients through what at first may seem like a complex process, Miller writes. NAIFA supports two model regulations by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners that aim to provide consumer safeguards.
