Va. district goes to court to collect lunch debt

A Virginia school district that is owed $14,890 in outstanding lunch debt has filed warrants in debt against parents who do not pay. Once a student's charges total $10, the school begins sending letters to parents seeking repayment of the debt. Once the debt reaches $55, the district can file for a warrant in district court, where one option is to garnish wages.
