Warfarin cuts stroke risk in atrial fibrillation patients, study finds

U.S. researchers who analyzed data of more than 32,000 patients found that warfarin is effective in lowering stroke risk in patients with atrial fibrillation. Stroke risk was higher for women, seniors and people who had a previous stroke or transient ischemic stroke. The findings will be published in Archives of Internal Medicine.
