Calif. city council considers tunnel to close freeway gap

The Pasadena, Calif., City Council has heard several requests to consider alternative transportation over a plan to construct a tunnel that would connect a 4.5-mile gap on a freeway. Options to close the gap include "no build," light rail, bus, traffic-management solutions and the tunnel, which opponents say would carry negative consequences.
