Chefs concerned about copycats take action

Chefs looking to protect their creative dishes from curious onlookers or former employees are taking legal action, according to the New York Post. Jimmy Haber of ESquared Hospitality is even going so far as requiring chefs to sign contracts after a former employee took cooking secrets with him when he left. "If I have a software company, and I hire a software engineer who is creating algorithms, the company owns those algorithms," Haber said. "It really is no different for a chef in a larger company."
