CIOs cite merging of cultures as key barrier to hospital M&A

Consolidation is gaining ground in the health care industry, with almost $2 billion going toward hospital mergers and acquisitions last year, but barriers remain. A healthsystemCIO.com survey revealed that 75% of CIO respondents viewed the merging of cultures as the primary barrier to M&A, while others cited the need to create a leadership team as a major concern.
