Mergers boost airline industry, United CEO says

United Airlines CEO Jeff Smisek credits mergers with helping the airline industry become more profitable. In a speech at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Aviation Summit, Smisek also expressed the need for a National Airline Policy. Smisek said the policy is required because airlines lack support from the government, face high taxes and could benefit from NextGen.
