Rosenworcel gets backing from 37 Senate Dems for top FCC post

Federal Communications Commission member Jessica Rosenworcel is getting a big push from Democratic lawmakers to be nominated to succeed FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski. Among the 37 Senate Democrats backing Rosenworcel in a letter to President Barack Obama is her mentor, Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va. However, picking Rosenworcel means Obama would have to skip over senior Democratic FCC member Mignon Clyburn, daughter of Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., so he may opt for an outside candidate.
