Va. board approves new diploma rule for special education

Students with disabilities in Virginia still will be able to work toward earning a diploma even after the state eliminates its long-standing modified diploma option. State board members have voted to adopt a new rule that officials say maintains high expectations and rigor and recognizes there are different paths to graduation.
