Airplane tracking capabilities under scrutiny

With the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 now entering its fourth week, the public is wondering why airplanes don't have satellite trackers similar to the GPS technology in their phones. The FAA has mandated that commercial aircraft flying in the U.S. install tracking technology by 2020.
