Carnival CEO: Cruise lines to target switchers, new cruisers and loyalists

Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival, said its cruise brands will seek to drive growth by capturing demand from three lucrative consumer segments: loyalists, "newbies" and switchers. Cruise lines compete for demand from loyal cruisers and new cruisers, whose numbers continue to increase. Carnival is also stepping up efforts to capture business away from competing cruise lines -- the hardest segment to capture, Donald said -- by giving them a big enough incentive to switch brands.
