Consumer Reports ranks hospitals by safety ratings

An analysis from Consumer Reports that ranked 2,591 hospitals by safety ratings found significant variations across the country that could affect patient risks. The report used data on hospital readmission rates, CT scans, hospital-acquired infections, mortality and communication, and found that mortality rates are linked to hospitals' scores.
