Even after troops leave Afghanistan, funds needed

Money will be needed for operations in Afghanistan until 2017 at least, even after U.S. troops depart for home, U.S. military leaders say. The overseas contingency operations money will pay for equipment repair and other needs. "We don't have enough money in our baseline budget to do what we're asked to do now," said Lt. Gen. Burton Field, Air Force deputy chief of staff for operations, plans and requirements.
