U.S. unlikely to curb HFT, Nasdaq's Greifeld says

Nasdaq OMX Group CEO Robert Greifeld said regulators are unlikely to ban or curb high-frequency trading because it would hurt liquidity and raise costs for all investors. "People are going to be very hesitant to put in policies that remove liquidity from the market," he said. "You could argue whether the liquidity is always there when you want it, but there is still liquidity in the marketplace."
